Tate Close Residence

Tate Close Residence

Situated in the serene landscape of Kitisuru, Tate Close embodies a remarkable transformation from a conventional three-storey house into a contemporary open-plan private oasis.  The project’s essence lies in its meticulous reconfiguration of once closed-off interiors, now expansively opened to embrace natural light and a fluid spatial experience.

The composition is a symphony of materials, curated to harmonize with the surroundings while asserting a clean contemporary aesthetic.  Large slabs of blade-cut limestone anchor the design, grounding it in the earth and connecting it harmoniously with the site’s natural beauty.

An interplay emerges between solids and voids. Steel and glass, ascend from the limestone base, culminating in a first storey defined by a chamfered monolithic facade sheathed in Xtone from Porcelanosa.  This material palette speaks to both durability and refinement, emphasizing the timeless appeal of contemporary design.

Notably, water serves as a serene motif throughout the design, enhancing the site’s tranquillity.

Through thoughtful materiality, spatial reorganization, and a deep engagement with natural elements, this project embodies a captivating synthesis of architectural vision and environmental sensitivity.
