Lefika Place
Located within The Neighbourhoods Estate, Lefika Place is positioned between the established street edge to the east and a natural park landscape extending along the western and southern boundaries. This unique setting allows the residence to engage with its surroundings on multiple sides, while establishing a strong architectural presence toward the prominent southern and eastern elevations.
The design responds to this relationship through a contemporary composition of bold architectural forms, extensive steel elements, and large areas of glazing. The prominent elevations are carefully articulated to create a strong presence from the street while opening the residence toward the surrounding natural landscape. Steel is used as a defining architectural element, providing a sense of structure and lightness, while expansive areas of glass create transparency and strengthen the connection between the interior spaces and the park beyond.
The positioning of the house allows the architecture to engage with both the more formal street frontage and the openness of the natural park. The contrast between solid architectural forms, expressed steelwork, and transparent glazing creates a residence that feels both grounded and visually open. The result is a contemporary home that takes advantage of its unusual corner-like relationship with the surrounding landscape, creating a strong architectural identity while maintaining a close connection to its natural setting.
