Nico van der Meulen Architects accomplished this design by reflecting the client’s desire for expansive spaces within a discreet, yet stately façade.

The result is a home that stands at attention, encompassing a formal stature, softened with classical Mediterranean lines, built to take in the views across Pretoria including the Union Buildings.

The exterior of this mansion is embellished with the graceful beauty of wrought iron detailing.

The architect created a structure that can slide open and expand its boundaries of space or remain closed off for more private affairs; this makes the functional design suitable for both intimate and entertainment purposes.

Sliding doors have been placed to provide the home owner with the convenience of closing the family room off from the kitchen and lanai, or open it up for a continuous expanse of space.

The home has impressive proportions and consists of double volume and airy rooms.

With an emphasis on light and space, an atrium has been placed next to the entrance, on the north side of the dining room with a water feature as a focal point.

This home, along with its complementary interior finishes, epitomizes classic architectural design.
