House BAL is located in Zimbali Coastal Estates outside Ballito, Durban.

The building is designed to eco the veranda architecture found in the Estate through the use of large open outdoor spaces, tiled roof, and the extensive use of natural timber.  The open-plan entertainment areas look out over the indigenous Milkwood trees with 180-degree views of the beautiful Indian Ocean.

The house has been designed to let in as much north lights as possible, while still respecting the view. Sliding natural timber screens have been incorporated into the design to shield the building from harsh western light.
