Responding to the site and its opportunities, Cornwall Hill a single storey residence is the result of an understanding of the client’s brief and an introduction of more contemporary design elements within a traditional framework.

The 1.69Ha stand presents various topographical restrictions which was the driving force behind many design decisions, directly influencing the placement of the building on site, spatial planning, and levels in and around the building.

Surrounding landscaped terraces promotes a sense of dwelling on site and the natural element is deepened using natural materials such as stone and timber. A project that emphasizes volume, composition and the spatial relationship between exterior and interior, whilst challenging the typographical precedent.
