BRYANSTON RESIDENCE
BRYANSTON RESIDENCE
Bryanston Residence is located in a well-established, leafy suburb of northern Johannesburg. The site is accessible through a panhandle which adds an additional layer of privacy and security to the programme. The building is designed as two primary, chamfered, exposed concrete boxes on the first storey level which cantilevers over the entertaining spaces below. The elongated driveway terminates into the entrance courtyard, with the main entrance opens to the west. Perforated bronze aluminium screens were used as cladding of the entrance gate and garages, as well as solar screening devices throughout. The elevated swimming pool terrace slants down to the natural ground level, imitating the dynamic boxes above, and becomes the main entertainment area which is linked to the open plan kitchen, dining, and living spaces.
