Bay View Residence is an extensive alteration to an existing guest house located right at the coastline on the Garden Route.

The design was derived from its surroundings – the ocean, the light, and the urban context.

The existing building was opened up as much as possible to maximize ocean vistas and creating an open plan fit for contemporary living.

Stackable perforated screens, inspired by coral, were introduced on the street facade and alongside private spaces to allow for the necessary privacy as required.
